Three Reasons Why You Should Take Two Pups From The Same Litter

Pets & Animals Blog

If you are planning and preparing for a French bulldog, it is best to put down a deposit on the pup that you want before the litter of dogs has arrived. If you want a specific breed, it can be difficult to find a reputable breeder and get a puppy after the litter is born. Therefore, it is a good idea to put down a deposit if you do find a breeder prior to the litter being born. You should also consider keeping two puppies from the litter. Here are three reasons to keep two puppies from the same litter.

Raising two at the same time is easier

If you enjoy having one French bulldog, you may decide that you want another in the future. If you do want another French bulldog, it can be hard to secure a well-bred puppy. It can also be difficult to get two dogs to get along if they were not raised together. Dogs of different ages and temperaments can have issues getting along with one another at times. If you get two French bulldogs who have been together since birth, them being in the same home together permanently will be normal for them.

Loneliness and destructive behavior can be reduced

Just like children, your dogs may have attachment issues and become lonely when you leave the home for work. This can lead to destructive behavior such as scratching furniture or tearing up things inside of the home. If there are two dogs, they can keep one another company and feel less lonely throughout the day. Training two dogs at once also means that you don't have to adopt later and have one performing destructive behavior, leading to the other dog redeveloping bad habits.

Two dogs can allow you to breed in the future

If you decide that you would like younger bulldogs in the future, you won't have to look around for them if you have a boy and a girl that you can breed. Breeding responsibly means having two puppies that are of breed standard and in good health. If you have raised two puppies that you have kept healthy, you can breed them when they are older. If you intend on keeping the litter, be sure that you are prepared to take care of the litter, plus the adult puppies together. If you wish to give away or sell any puppies, line up interested adopters prior to breeding so that you know all puppies can be properly cared for before breeding your dogs.

Loving Your Pets

After our youngest daughter was in high school, I realized that I liked having people around to take care of and that my window for doing that was closing quickly. Instead of having more children, I decided to see about adopting a pet or two. I looked everywhere for a dog and a cat that would meld well with my lifestyle, and it was incredible to find a pet that I really connected with. However, I was able to find pets that I absolutely adored, and so I made them a part of our home. This blog is here to help new pet owners to adjust to their new situation and to learn to love everything about having new pets.
